Nancy reports that she has been gardening all of her life. The family kitchen garden has always been a big part of it, growing up on a century farm on the outskirts of London and presently with her own family near Thorndale, Ontario. She honed her gardening knowledge and skills with various courses. She has a certificate in Horticulture from the University of Guelph. She is a member in the local Horticulture Society as well as an active member with the London Middlesex Master Gardeners. She even finds some time to be a volunteer gardener at Fanshawe Pioneer Village in London, ON.
Virtual 7pm only on ZOOM. Members will receive the Zoom link 2-3 days prior to the event!
Besides gardening, cooking is another passion of hers so she has combined the two! It has always been important to her to feed her family from the best of her garden or from locally grown produce. For more than 50 years of preserving, canning, pickling, and using heirloom recipes including some of her own creations, she has developed tasty preserves for her family and friends. Nancy owns & operates ‘From My Garden’, a unique cottage business. She is a freelance writer for a small community newspaper in Dorchester and has a gardening column in the St. Mary’s Independent, St. Mary’s, ON. She also self-published a book, titled ‘From my Garden ~ sharing stories, secrets and recipes.’
Nancy will be speaking to us via Zoom about bugs and diseases in our gardens, and the presentation will be recorded for members with Nancy’s permission. Join us!
