A proud supporter of our community in ON, Canada

May 27, 2026 @ 7pm: Anne Craig “Rethinking the Lawn: Cultivating Change in our Green Spaces”

Location: Peterborough Lions Centre, Burnham St. Ptbo

Guests are welcome for $5.

Join us in welcoming Anne Craig to our stage. For decades, the manicured lawn has set the standard for the well-kept residential property; but at what cost? This session will examine the history of the lawn, look at the environmental impacts of conventional lawn care and share some ways you can adapt your lawn.

Anne has been a member of the Peterborough Master Gardeners for over five years but has been gardening seriously for over thirty.  She is currently the President of the Master Gardeners of Ontario.

Anne grows perennials, vegetables and annuals but is increasingly replacing plants with native selections and removing invasive plants.

Her educational background is in Environment Studies and she worked for most of her career at Ontario Parks.  Her secret mission is to challenge gardening convention and disrupt traditional thinking about our gardens.
