November 23: David Beresford “Bugs in the Garden”

beresfordDavid Beresford is an Assistant Professor at Trent who teaches entomology (the study of bugs) and invasive species biology. His research focuses on insect pests of livestock and wildlife, as well as insect biodiversity in Northern Ontario.  The website “Rate My Professor” ranks David as a solid 4.7 out of 5 for awesomeness with comments such as “such a nice person, most amazing prof at Trent” and “Great Prof, would take all of his courses if I could”,  and “Hands down my favourite professor at Trent”.  One warning that could be a predictor of his talk to us is “careful, he has a tendency to get off topic and tell stories about flies, and his research in flies”.    We welcome his passionate talk to us about his bugs!
