June 24th Speaker: Cauleen Viscoff — “What a Plant Knows”

What exactly does a plant know? . . .
Without a central nervous system, and the fact that a plant is rooted in place, how can we actually say that plants “know” things?
Do they smell, see, feel, hear or remember? Does a plant really know where it is?
After taking a course through the University of Tel Aviv, Cauleen believes they do. Come and find out why.
Cauleen Viscoff returns for a second guest appearance to the Peterborough Horticultural Society this year. As well as being a Master Gardener Cauleen is also a writer, garden designer as well as the PlantWatch Co-ordinator for Ontario and
Co-chair for the Peterborough Garden Show for 2015.
