June 26: Suzanne Catty “Distilling Demo: How essential oils and hydrosols are extracted”

Suzanne is an internationally recognized researcher and practitioner in the fields of aromatherapy and holistic health.  She learned the European traditional and medicinal uses of plants from her family, especially her grandmother who worked with Rudolf Steiner.  Previously Suzanne worked in the music industry for 20+ years in international marketing and management.

She is formerly President of the Canadian Federation of Aromatherapists, Vice-President of the National Association of Holistic Aromatherapy in the US, and has been a member of the  Organic Trade Association Personal Care Task Force, providing direction to set standards for organic personal care in North America.  She is a life-long environmentalist.

Suzanne is a practitioner, researcher, educator and author. Her book “Hydrosols, the Next Aromatherapy,” was the first book published exclusively on the use of hydrosols.  She travels around the world teaching about aromatherapy, hydrosols, and holistic health, and volunteers her time with many professional and community organizations.  She is currently co-President of the Cannington Horticultural Society.

On June 26, Suzanne will be demonstrating the art of essential oils and hydrosols extraction with an actual distillation system.  Should be very interesting!
